Computing

Our Vision

At Moss Park, we believe that computing isn't just a subject—it's a passport to the future. Our curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity, foster innovation, and build the digital skills essential for tomorrow’s world. From coding their first program to navigating the vast digital landscape safely and ethically, our students gain a deep, hands-on understanding of how technology shapes our lives.

At Moss Park, computing education is a gateway to understanding the world, empowering our students to dream big and make an impact. We are committed to nurturing responsible digital citizens who are prepared to thrive in an ever-evolving digital world.

Our Aims

  • To understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science
  • To analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems
  • To evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems
  • To be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology

Intent

At Moss Park we utilise the iCompute scheme of work to support us in teaching computing effectively and well by providing a rich, broad and balanced computing curriculum, fully mapped to the National Curriculum for Computing and EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2. It offers pupils a computing education designed for mastery using research-led computing pedagogies and covers all three strands of the computing curriculum:
